What exactly do I get?

Does Office 2021 still receive updates?
No. Microsoft ended support for Office 2021 on 13 October 2026. The apps keep working but no longer receive security fixes or new features.
I have Windows 11 Home – can I switch to Pro?
Yes. Go to Settings > System > Activation, select Change product key and enter the Pro key. Microsoft supports this switch without reinstalling Windows; a restart is required after entering the key.
How do I activate Office?
Install Office with the Office Deployment Tool, start Word, choose I don't want to sign in or create an account in the Sign in to set up Office window and enter the product key without dashes. Office then activates online.
Do I need a Microsoft account?
Windows 11 Home and Windows 11 Pro for personal use require an internet connection and a Microsoft account during initial device setup. Office Professional Plus 2021 can be activated with the product key without signing in.
Which languages are available?
You can download the Windows 11 installation media in your language and choose the Office language in the installation configuration (e.g. en-us or en-gb). Czech, Slovak, Polish and Hungarian are also available.

Installation and activation
- Check that your PC meets the Windows 11 requirements (64-bit processor, TPM 2.0, Secure Boot). For a clean installation, download the installation media tool or an ISO from Microsoft's official website and install Windows 11; if you already have Windows 11, skip this step.
- Open Start > Settings > System > Activation, select Change product key and enter the 25-character Windows 11 Pro key from your e-mail. When upgrading from Home, confirm the switch to Pro and let the PC restart.
- Download the Office Deployment Tool from the Microsoft Download Center and run it to extract setup.exe and a sample configuration.xml.
- In configuration.xml set the product ProPlus2021Retail, the 64-bit or 32-bit version and your language (e.g. en-us), then run setup /configure configuration.xml from a Command Prompt opened as administrator.
- Start Word, choose I don't want to sign in or create an account in the Sign in to set up Office window and enter the Office product key from your e-mail without dashes.
- Check activation: Windows under Settings > System > Activation, Office under File > Account.
