Frequently asked questions
How do I activate the licence?
Sign in to your Bitdefender Central account at central.bitdefender.com (or create one), open My Subscriptions in the left-hand menu, choose + Activate with code and enter the licence key from your email. Then install the Bitdefender Mobile Security app on your phone and sign in with the same account.
Does the licence cover both Android and iOS?
Bitdefender Mobile Security comes as separate apps for Android and iOS, and their features differ – malware scanning of apps, call blocking and Anti-Theft are Android-only. Please choose the licence variant intended for your device's operating system.
How many devices can I use it on?
On as many phones or tablets as your chosen licence variant states (1 or 3 devices). If you change your phone, first remove the old device from your Bitdefender Central account to free up its slot, then install the app on the new phone – you do not need to enter the licence key again.
Is the VPN unlimited?
No. The licence includes the basic Bitdefender VPN with 200 MB of encrypted traffic per day per device. Unlimited traffic is available with the separate Bitdefender Premium VPN service.
How do I renew my licence?
Buy a new licence for the same product with the same number of devices and, when activating the code in Bitdefender Central, select Extend current subscription. The remaining days are added on, provided the total validity does not exceed 5 years. You can see the expiry date under My Subscriptions.
Which languages is Bitdefender Central available in?
The Bitdefender Central web account, where you activate and manage your licence, is available in English and many other languages, including Czech, Polish and Hungarian. You can switch the language at the bottom of the left-hand menu by clicking the current language.

Installation and activation
- Go to central.bitdefender.com and sign in to your Bitdefender Central account, or create a new one.
- In the left-hand menu open My Subscriptions, click + Activate with code, enter the licence key from your email and confirm with Activate.
- On your phone or tablet, open Google Play (Android) or the App Store (iPhone, iPad), search for Bitdefender Mobile Security and install it.
- Open the app, accept the Subscription Agreement and sign in with the same Bitdefender Central account in which you activated the key.
- Follow the setup wizard to switch on Web Protection: on Android allow Bitdefender Mobile Security in the Accessibility settings, on iOS allow the web filter to be installed.
- On Android, run the first scan. You can check that the licence is active and when it expires in Bitdefender Central under My Subscriptions.
