Frequently asked questions
How do I activate the licence?
On Windows, open AVG AntiTrack, choose Already purchased?, paste the code from your e-mail and click Continue. On Mac, click Next through the welcome screens, enter the code and click Activate. Step-by-step instructions are in the Instructions tab.
How many devices can I use the licence on?
On as many computers as the licence you choose covers (1 or 3 devices). According to the vendor, the licence can also be transferred to another device.
Does AntiTrack block ads?
AVG AntiTrack is not an ad blocker, so you will still see some ads. It does, however, stop trackers from gathering information about your behaviour, which reduces ads targeted specifically at you.
Is AntiTrack the same as a VPN?
No. A VPN encrypts your connection and hides your IP address, whereas AntiTrack masks your digital fingerprint and removes traces of your browsing. The vendor recommends using both together.
Which browsers are supported?
Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge and Mozilla Firefox on Windows; Safari, Chrome and Firefox on Mac. If you use Chrome on Windows, the app prompts you to install the AVG AntiTrack extension after activation. On Mac, AntiTrack needs Full Disk Access to remove cookies from Safari.
What if a website does not load?
You can turn AVG AntiTrack off for that specific website or add it to the exceptions whose cookies are not cleared.

AVG AntiTrack
Installation and activation
- Open the official AVG guide for Windows or Mac (links below) and click Download AVG AntiTrack.
- Windows: run the downloaded avg_antitrack_setup.exe file, click Install and follow the on-screen instructions. Mac: open avg-antitrack.dmg, drag the AVG AntiTrack icon to the Applications folder and complete the installation.
- Launch AVG AntiTrack. On Windows, select Already purchased?; on Mac, click Next through the welcome screens.
- Enter the licence key from your e-mail and click Continue (Windows) or Activate (Mac). If asked, enter your name, e-mail and postcode.
- Turn on protection for the browsers you use and, if prompted, install the AVG AntiTrack browser extension (for example in Chrome on Windows).
- Check on the main screen that privacy protection is on. If a valid code is rejected, use the AVG activation form linked from the official guide.
