Frequently asked questions
How do I activate the licence?
On Windows, open AVG TuneUp, click Settings (the gear icon) ▸ My subscription ▸ Enter activation code, paste the code from your e-mail and click Enter. On Mac, use Insert activation code. Step-by-step instructions are in the Instructions tab.
How many and which devices can I use TuneUp on?
On as many devices as the option you choose covers (1, 3, 5 or 10). AVG TuneUp is available for Windows and Mac; multi-device licences also include the AVG Cleaner app for Android.
Will TuneUp delete anything without my knowledge?
No. After a scan you can review the items found and choose what to remove. With Auto-Clean you decide which categories may be deleted, and certain changes can be reversed in the Undo Center.
Which languages is the program available in?
According to the vendor, the Windows version is available in over 20 languages, including English, Czech, Slovak, Polish and Hungarian; you can change the language under Settings ▸ General.
Where can I see when my licence expires?
On Windows, open Settings ▸ My subscription – the subscription length and expiry date are shown under Your subscription. On Mac, you will find the date in Settings on the Subscription tab.
Do I need AVG antivirus to use TuneUp?
No. AVG TuneUp is a standalone app and works without AVG AntiVirus or AVG Internet Security.

AVG TuneUp
Installation and activation
- Open the official AVG guide (link below) and download the installer – avg_tuneup_online_setup.exe on Windows, avgtuneup.dmg on Mac.
- Windows: run the downloaded file, click Install and follow the on-screen instructions. Mac: double-click Install AVG TuneUp Premium and complete the installation.
- Windows: open AVG TuneUp, click Settings (the gear icon), make sure the My subscription tab is selected, click the My subscription button and then Enter activation code.
- Paste the licence key from your e-mail (Ctrl+V) and click Enter. On Mac, open AVG TuneUp from the Applications folder, choose Insert activation code, paste the code and click Activate.
- Android (multi-device licences): install AVG Cleaner from Google Play via the guide, choose Get started ▸ Already purchased? ▸ Use an activation code, paste the code and tap Use this code.
- Run your first scan from the main screen and review the recommended fixes. If a valid code is rejected, use the AVG activation form linked from the official guide.
