Frequently asked questions
How do I activate the subscription?
Redeem Microsoft 365 Personal or Family at setup.office.com (microsoft365.com/setup): sign in with your Microsoft account, enter the product key without hyphens, and the subscription is added to your account. A Microsoft 365 Business Standard key is redeemed at signup.microsoft.com/get-started/setupkey, where you also complete the setup of your business account.
Can I use the key to extend my existing subscription?
Yes. When redeeming the key, sign in with the Microsoft account your subscription is associated with, and the subscription will be renewed.
On how many devices can I use Microsoft 365?
With Microsoft 365 Personal, you can be signed in on up to 5 devices at once – PCs, Macs, tablets and phones. With Microsoft 365 Family, the limit of 5 simultaneous devices applies to each person, and with Business Standard every user can install the apps on up to 5 PCs or Macs.
How does sharing work with Family?
Microsoft 365 Family is for 1 to 6 people who share 2 TB of secure OneDrive storage. Everyone has their own sign-in, and AI features are available to the subscription owner only.
Does Microsoft 365 work on Windows 10?
In its current system requirements, Microsoft lists only Windows 11 for PCs. Microsoft 365 apps keep working on Windows 10, where Microsoft provides security updates for them until 10 October 2028, but it recommends moving to Windows 11. On a Mac, you need one of the three most recent versions of macOS.
Which languages are the apps available in?
Microsoft 365 apps are fully localised into Czech, Slovak, Polish, Hungarian, English and dozens of other languages. You can change the language in the app under File > Options > Language.

Installation and activation
- Microsoft 365 Personal or Family: go to setup.office.com and sign in with your Microsoft account, or create one.
- Enter the product key from your e-mail without hyphens and follow the prompts to finish redeeming it – the subscription is added to your account. If you already have a subscription, sign in with the account it belongs to and the key will renew it.
- Microsoft 365 Business Standard: go to signup.microsoft.com/get-started/setupkey, enter the product key without hyphens, select Next and complete the redemption and setup of your business account.
- Sign in at m365.cloud.microsoft/apps, choose to install the apps and run the downloaded setup file (on a Mac, open the downloaded installer package from the Downloads folder in Finder).
- Start an app such as Word, accept the licence agreement and sign in with the same account to activate the apps. On a Mac, sign in with the same account in the welcome window.
