On McAfee's official activation page, click Enter product key, paste the key from your e-mail and sign in or create a McAfee account. You can then download the app to each device after signing in to My Account.
Does it work on a Mac?
McAfee's system requirements for Safe Connect list Windows, Android, iOS and ChromeOS; macOS is not among them.
How many devices can I protect?
5 or 10, depending on the version you choose. The licence runs for 1, 2 or 3 years.
Does McAfee record what I do online?
According to McAfee, no – it states that it doesn't log or track what you do online and that its VPN technology is independently checked and audited.

McAfee Safe Connect VPN
Installation and activation
- Open McAfee's official activation page (link below) and click Enter product key.
- Paste the licence key from your e-mail and enter your e-mail address. If you don't have a McAfee account yet, one will be created for this address; McAfee will e-mail you a 6-digit one-time passcode to verify it.
- McAfee will offer to turn on auto-renewal, which requires a payment card. It is optional – if you don't want it, click No Thanks.
- After activation, sign in to My Account and download McAfee Safe Connect to the device you want to protect.
- Open the app, sign in with your McAfee account and turn the VPN on. You can also have it switch on automatically on unsecured networks or keep it on all the time.
- Repeat on other devices up to the number included in your licence (5 or 10).
