Frequently asked questions
How do I activate the VPN?
Go to norton.com/setup, enter the 25-character product key from your e-mail and sign in to your Norton account (or create one). Then, at my.norton.com, click Download under your VPN plan. See the Instructions tab for the full steps.
Is Norton Secure VPN the same as Norton VPN?
Yes. Norton now offers its VPN under the name Norton VPN, and the former Norton Secure VPN page redirects to it.
Does the VPN include antivirus?
No. The standalone VPN does not include antivirus. Norton 360 plans combine the VPN with antivirus protection.
Can I use the VPN on a smart TV?
Yes with the 5-device licence – the Norton VPN app is available for Google TV, Amazon Fire TV and Apple TV. The 1-device licence cannot be activated on a smart TV.
Does Norton store what I do online?
No. Norton VPN has a strict no-log policy – it does not track, log or store your online activity. This has been confirmed by an external audit by VerSprite.
Can I use the VPN abroad?
Yes, you can also use the VPN when travelling abroad. However, VPN availability may be restricted in some countries, so please check local laws.

Norton Secure VPN
Installation and activation
- Go to norton.com/setup, enter the 25-character product key from your e-mail (five groups of five characters) and click Next.
- Enter your e-mail address and click Next. Sign in to your Norton account with your password or a one-time code sent by e-mail; if you don't have an account, click Create an account and complete the sign-up.
- On your computer, go to my.norton.com, sign in and, on the My Norton page, click Download under your VPN plan.
- Open the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
- On a phone or tablet, install the Norton VPN app from Google Play or the App Store and sign in with the same Norton account.
- Open the VPN, choose a server location and click to connect. To check your subscription and product key, hover over your profile icon at my.norton.com and click My Subscriptions.
