Frequently asked questions
How do I activate my licence?
Create a My F-Secure account (or sign in to your existing one), enter the licence key from your e-mail and install the F-Secure app via Add device. See the Instructions tab for the full steps.
How many devices can I protect?
As many as your chosen option covers – from 1 to 25 devices. You can mix Windows PCs, Macs and Android and iOS phones and tablets, and share protection with family or friends through your My F-Secure group.
Is this the same as F-Secure SAFE?
Yes. F-Secure SAFE is now called F-Secure Internet Security. You can renew an existing SAFE or Internet Security subscription with a licence key – the time included in the code is added to your remaining days.
Does Internet Security include a VPN or a password manager?
No. The VPN, Password Vault and identity monitoring are part of the higher-tier F-Secure Total.
Do I need to uninstall my current antivirus?
Yes. To make sure the protection works as intended, F-Secure recommends removing any conflicting third-party antivirus products from your computer before installation.
Which languages is the app available in?
The F-Secure app is available in more than 20 languages, including English, Czech, Polish and Hungarian. The language is set from your system during setup, or you can choose it on the setup page; changing it later requires reinstalling.

Installation and activation
- If another antivirus program is installed on your computer, uninstall it first – F-Secure recommends removing conflicting third-party antivirus products.
- Open My F-Secure and select Create new account. Enter your name, e-mail address and password, select Accept and create account and confirm your e-mail address using the link in the activation e-mail. If you already have an account, simply sign in.
- In My F-Secure, select Subscription in the top bar, choose Redeem subscription code from the I want to… menu, enter the licence key from your e-mail, select Continue and confirm the details with Accept.
- Select Add device, choose whose device you want to protect and select Continue. Choose This computer and download the installation package (on Windows, select Download for Windows).
- Run the downloaded package, choose a language in the top-left corner if needed, select Accept and continue to accept the licence terms and follow the on-screen instructions. If prompted, set up the browser extension.
- To add a phone or tablet, use Add device as well: choose the device type, send yourself the installation link by e-mail or SMS, install the F-Secure app from the app store and sign in with the same account.
- To check activation, open the F-Secure app, select the menu in the top-left corner and choose Subscription – you will see your subscription status and expiry date. Your protection status is shown on the main view.
