What is the difference between Professional and Enterprise?
Both editions share the same IDE, languages and workloads. Enterprise additionally includes, among other things, IntelliTrace, Live Unit Testing, Microsoft Fakes and creating Code Maps; Professional can only open code maps.
How do I activate the licence?
After installation, open File > Account Settings, select the License with a Product Key link and enter the key from the e-mail.
Which languages is Visual Studio available in?
Visual Studio 2022 is available in English, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), Czech, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese (Brazil), Russian, Spanish and Turkish. You choose the language on the Language packs tab during installation.
Which systems does Visual Studio 2022 run on?
Microsoft supports 64-bit Windows 11 and Windows Server 2016 to 2025. Windows 10 is no longer on the current list of supported systems, and 32-bit and ARM32 systems are not supported.

Visual Studio 2022 Professional / Enterprise
Installation and activation
- On the Visual Studio 2022 release history page, download the installer (bootstrapper) for your edition – Professional or Enterprise – from the fixed version bootstrappers table.
- Run the downloaded file, select Yes in the User Account Control prompt and accept the licence terms and privacy statement by selecting Continue.
- In the Visual Studio Installer, choose the workloads you need (for example ASP.NET and web development), pick a language on the Language packs tab if required and select Install.
- When the installation is complete, start Visual Studio and open File > Account Settings.
- Select the License with a Product Key link, paste the licence key from the e-mail and confirm.
- Check the licence information on the right of the Account Settings dialog – it should show your edition.
